Already taken a full 24-hour level 1 course and want to refresh, practice and gain on your knowledge and skills? This is the perfect for anyone who needs an update or wants a day out with an avalanche instructor to clarify new avalanche information and refresh on teamwork and observational skills.
Prerequisite: must have taken a 24-hour avalanche level 1 course in the last five years.
Locations: Options include- Herman Gulch, Ruby Gulch, Watrous Gulch, Peru Creek, and Loveland Pass.
To best suit your learning and experience, our Mentored Tour Days are always low ratio experiences.
Book solo, with a friend, or as a group. Ratio not to exceed 4:1 student to instructor.
Description
Join us for a mentored tour day that puts you in the lead while in the backcountry. Small ratio 4:1 experiences allow for teams to travel efficiently while practicing skills of navigation, route finding, and your AIARE Avalanche Level 1 and Level 2 skills, all under the guidance and supervision of a avalanche and backcountry professional. Tours will be a full 8-hour day, with 3-7 miles of skiing and 2000+ vertical gain.
