AIARE Avalanche Level I Course
$535.00 – $750.00
Students will start to develop a good grounding in how to prepare for and carry out a backcountry trip in avalanche terrain, to understand basic decision making while in the field, begin to recognize avalanche types and problems, and to learn companion rescue techniques required to find and dig up a buried person. Students are encouraged and counseled on how to apply the skills learned and while no course can fully guarantee safety, either during or after course completion this is the foundational core curriculum for anyone venturing into the backcountry in winter.
